Heartfelt Creations: Sparkling Poinsettia Layout

I have a confession. I ADORE crafting for Christmas. Whether it’s cards, home decor projects or scrapbook layouts…I love it all. As soon as December hits, I get into the Christmas mood and start decorating.

SO, I thought I would get a little scrappy for Christmas too, with one of my favourite Christmas photos ever, from last Christmas.

Project Recipe:

HCDP1-256 Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection

HCD1-766 Sparkling Poinsettia Dies

HCPC-3680 Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamps

HCST1-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit

HCD-745 Luggage and Tags Dies

71058 ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink- Guacamole

ANC818 Prills- Go Man Go

Other Products Used:

Stickles- Clear, Burlap String, Tombow (Mono Aqua, 3D Foam Tape), Gems- Gold, Ink- ColorBox Susan Weckesser (Kiss), ColorBox (Kiwi, Rose Coral, Chocolate), Cardstock (Chocolate, Green, White)

Brown cardstock is 12×12, and the light patterned paper is cut to 11.5×11.5. Cut 2 strips of the red patterned paper that are 1×12 and adhere to either side of the layout. Fussy cut out the green scroll background. Adhere this to the background using 3D foam tape.

Find and cut out the red mini tag, and add burlap string. Adhere just above where your photo will be adhered. Add 2 pieces of border strip horizontally under the photo.

Mat your photo in cream, green and brown cardstock and adhere to the middle of the layout using 3D foam tape.

Stamp and die cut 4 sets of the Sparkling Poinsettia images. I added colour using inks and daubers, remember to create some leaves. Shape and adhere together. Using liquid adhesive add a daub in the middle of each flower and add Prills. Once dry adhere to the layout, 3 along the top and 3 along the bottom of the layout. Add gems along both red patterned border strips. Last but not least, I added Stickles to the tips of the poinsettias.

I thought I would share another bonus project as well. I created a card using one of the stamps from the Black Friday release.

Project Recipe:

HCPC-3763 Courage and Strength Cling Stamps

HCDP1-267 Botanic Orchid Paper Collection

Other Products Used;

Tombow Dual Brush (761), Tombow Stamp Runner, 3D Foam Tape, ColorBox Susan Weckesser Ink (Mystery), May Arts Ribbon (green silk), Want 2 Scrap- Mother of Pearl Rhinestones, White Cardstock, 2.75” Circle Punch

My card base is 6×6, in white cardstock. Find and cut out both of the 6×6 patterned card base that I used. One I kept full sized, and the other I cut down to the light square with the narrow pink border. Wrap the green silk ribbon around the largest layer of the card and tie in a bow on the left hand side of the card. Pop the smaller layer you have cut in the middle of the card.

Cut a 1×5.5 strip of the purple patterned paper and flag just one end and adhere to the middle of the card using 3D foam tape.

Stamp your image on white cardstock and add colour using Tombow markers. Cut the image out using a large circle punch. Adhere to the middle of the card using 3D foam tape. Add gems in the corners of the card and up the banner.
