Have you picked up your Spring 2018 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine yet? Better yet, you could subscribe and have it come right to your door, often a little earlier than they hit shelves!
This issue is packed with inspiration, tips and tutorials in ALL sorts of crafting styles.
Today I am sharing 3 projects that appear in the Spring issue. For this first layout we were asked to create a project inspired by an ad. Here are the details:
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE vintage ads. Their wholesome simplicity. This is the ad that my layout was inspired by.
Carta Bella- Country Kitchen Collection
patterned paper, ephemera, frames and tags
Ranger- Distress Oxide Inks
Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Peeled Paint
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L-
3D Foam Squares, Creative Photo Corners- Ivory, E-Z Runner Grand, Adhesive Dots- Mini
Craft Mat, Water Mister, Heat Gun
Burlap String, Buttons
Echo Park Paper- letter stickers from old collections
The Country Kitchen Collection was a PERFECT match to the vintage ad. With paper and embellishments so perfectly fun to create with.
I created my modelled background using watercolour paper and Distress Oxide Inks. With the inks you are able to create backgrounds to match practically ANY paper collection.
The second project that I have to share is a card. Our assignment for this one was to use sequins on a card.
Distress Watercolour Paper
Dylusions- Flight of Fancy Stamps
Dina Wakley Media Stencil
Distress Paint- Picket Fence
Distress Oxide Ink- Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers
Archival Ink- Jet Black
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L:
3D Foam Squares, Crafty Foam Tape, E-Z Runner Ultra, Adhesive Dots- Mini
Brea Reese Glitter Ink- Violet
Watercolour Ink- Gold
PR4, BG4, PK3, VO4, BL3
Color Top- BG3
Sequins and Sequins Trim
White Mesh Ribbon, Heat Gun, Water Mister
I added colour to my stamped image using Chameleon Pens and Color Tops.
For this card like the layout above I created a matching background using Distress Oxide Inks, and watercolour inks.
My third project is a layout created with the theme of Selfies.
Luckily Zoe made the perfect selfie model for me.
This collection from Simple Stories made for the ideal product palette to create with.
Simple Stories: Beautiful Collection
patterned paper, cardstock stickers, chipboard stickers, bits & pieces
Ranger: Archival Ink- Jet Black
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L:

I love the muted tones of this collection.
