Creative Embellishments: May Challenge

Welcome May, and welcome to another fabulous challenge with Creative Embellishments! I was inspired by this month’s mood board, all of those beautiful jewel tones and the pops of silhouette black. I also love that diamond image, but created with diamonds of a slightly different sort.

This is the mood board that I based my layout on for May’s Challenge.
The additional challenge was to add something to the layout with wings. I took that in a slightly different direction, and chose the small border word that LOOKS like it has wings of it’s own.

Creative Embellishments products that I created with:
Diamonds              Small Moments Border Words

I used the entire set of Diamonds chipboard. First cut the largest diamond in half. Then I covered each piece using my embossing dauber and black embossing powder.
Next I covered the word portion of the small word border using a sparkly silver embossing powder, and the ends using a sparkly black embossing powder.

I created the background using squares of watercolour paper and Brea Reese inks. I wet the paper first and then added the colours one at a time. Let dry, and then mat in white cardstock.

The matted squares were added to the black cardstock using crafty foam tape.

The diamonds were all added using Adhesive Dots Micro. Then I added my photo using 3D foam squares. Finally I added gems for even more sparkle.
