Creative Embellishments: August Challenge

Hello scrappy friends! It’s August already, and with a new month comes a fabulous new challenge from Creative Embellishments. Here are all of the challenge details.

Above is the challenge image that I based my layout on. I love a good challenge, and this month’s is no exception. I wanted to create my layout with a similar light and earthy colour scheme, as well as keep it feminine. Then there’s the extra challenge of leaving some white space….no problem!

For this layout I kept treating the chipboard pieces pretty easy. I simply covered both pieces using a Lavender Sparkle embossing powder. Then I added some light green gems to the Ornate Piece that I used as a border up the left hand side of my layout.

I created a simple layered background using a combination of patterned paper and cardstock. Then added the Ornate Piece up the side of the layout. I matted my photo in white cardstock and added it to the layout using foam tape.

I added lots of beautiful ephemera around the matted photo and the Ornate Piece. Then I added the “Adventure” title to the right of the matted photo and completed the title phrase using letter stickers.
