Craft Lightning: Holiday Edition

Welcome to another edition of Craft Lightning.
Craft Lightning is a crafty movement to encourage crafting with the whole family. We all know how a day can get away from you, or even a week. But crafty time for yourself, or with family is so very important. Fostering creativity, a way to de-stress, or just to put a smile on someone’s face.
All of the crafts that we crafty bloggers have created would take 15 minutes or less to create. We can all set aside 15 minutes to craft.

My project today is a simple Hot Chocolate Pocket. A great little stocking stuffer, teachers gift, class gift or simple thank you to someone special over the holidays.

Heartfelt Creations- Sparkling Poinsettia Stamps and Dies, Flower Shaping Kit

ColorBox Ink- Pixie Pink, Cranberry, Chocolate

Bo Bunny- Cardstock

May Arts Ribbon- Natural Burlap String

Depending on the size of you hot chocolate packet, you are going to cut a strip of the patterned cardstock. My strip of paper is 4″. Fold a front flap that is about 1″. Using the hot chocolate packet as a guide, create the pocket and bottom fold. Then I trimmed off the extra cardstock from the top of the pocket.

I added pieces of holiday patterned paper to the flap, and the back of the pocket. Using the burlap string I wrapped the pocket over and over, then tied a bow in the front.

I stamped and cut my poinsettia, and added colour using inks and sponges. Shape the flower and adhere the layers together. Add Prills to the middle of the flower using the Mono Aqua adhesive, and then glitter glue to the tips of the petals. Once dry, adhere to the front of the pocket.
