A closer look at the first page.
I first treated each piece of chipboard using Distress Spray Stain, Black Soot and Walnut Stain. Then using DecoArt Metallic Lustre, Gold Rush and Espresso I rubbed on some metallic shimmer to bit of each piece. On the title I rubbed the gold all along the bottom of the word. Finally I took the DecoArt teal paint and I watered it down quite a bit. Then with a brush, I brushed on parts of just a few pieces. It then dries in sort of an opaque way.
I used the 18×18 DecoArt Stencil with DecoArt Americana Raw Umber Paint with a stencil brush on either end of the layout first. Then once dry, I came back with a sponge and Dazzlin Metallic Bright Brass Paint, and added colour to just the tips of the medallion.
I took plain Kraft cardstock tags that I cut myself, crumpled them, then spritzed them heavily with water. Then misted them with Color Bloom Spray, Golden Walnut. Dry with a heat gun. It will dry with that tea dyed look, with the added bonus of a little extra sparkle.
This double layout has one matted 5×7 on the left hand side, and 3 matted 3×4 photos on the other side of the layout.
Using a Tonic Paper Edge Distresser, I distressed most of the cardstock layers before inking them of course. Some parts of the layout I inked in both brown and black ink.
I added burlap string to some of the tea dyed tags.
When adding each of the layers of my layout, I used Crafty Foam Tape for lots of dimension.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
What an inspiring layout! It is so good, it inspires me to scrap some of my old family pictures. You did a wonderful job on it.
